Blender 2.5

Blender 2.5 is out (alpha 0). You can get it here This one is so .... humm .... different ! I mean, Blender team really made a great work !! So many improvements have been made (check the dev log). The counterpart is that there are many things to learn again, and my script doesn’t work anymore.

So, I don’t know what to do :
- I started to study the new Blender API, and have a begining for my "WoW import script for 2.5"
- I would like to continue to improve rigging on imported characters, so I can (at last !) play with animations (note for myself : keep in mind that’s one of the main reasons why you wrote that script !)
- Temptation to "play" with the new Blender is strong ...

.... I think I will "start by finishing what I started" (not sure this is the best translation, I saw the film in French (Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi)) That means, adapt the script for 2.5. This is probably the main priority since the script can be useful for other people too (well, until now, nobody showed any kind of interest for it, but .... :) )

Ok, enough talking, let’s go to work !

Oh, this article’s logo is part of the splash screen of the new Blender, by David Revoy, member of the Durian Team

  • hey man, first off, keep up the good work. second, let me be the first to show interest in it. ;) i have been working with 3dsmax 2010 and only picked up blender for your script. i do not have time what so ever to work on a max script to import m2, wmo and adt files, so i appreciate your effort.
